About Us
Located in Board of Education District 6 and KCS Region 2, Amherst Elementary School is located on Schaad Road in Northwest Knoxville. We serve approximately 670 students in Pre-K through 5th grade with a strong tradition of excellence and community partnership.
At Amherst Elementary School, we believe that every child deserves a school where they feel safe, loved, accepted, valued, and encouraged. Our staff works collaboratively to build a solid academic foundation for every student, setting high expectations and using data and best practices to guide instruction. We also hold ourselves accountable for our own learning and actions, embracing a growth mindset and cultivating a respectful culture where everyone can thrive.
Through community involvement, PBIS supports, and ongoing teacher learning, we equip students and families to learn and grow in a positive and productive learning environment. Together, we're shaping confident, curious learners who are prepared for success both in school and beyond.
